Fire Andy Reid

Andy Reid has been head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles for 13 years.  During that tenure the Eagles have had some terrific regular seasons, went to 5 NFC Title games, and made 1 Super Bowl appearance.  If you look no deeper than that, you might think the notion of the Eagles firing Andy Reid is somewhat silly.  Well, we are going to look a little deeper.

If you are one of those fans or media pundits that think regular season success is good enough, then good for you.  Reid is your man.  If you are one of those that fears what might happen if the Eagles jettison Reid, then I say you are a coward.  Winning in November is no replacement for winning in February.  No one ever looks back fondly on those years when the team was “pretty good.”  They don’t build statues for mediocre achievements.

Reid has played his hand and we have seen his limitations.  His best team was the 2003 team that somehow lost to Tampa Bay (in Philadelphia) in the NFC Title Game.  A coach who can’t bring home the Lombardi Trophy with that setup is not ever going to bring you a title.  He just doesn’t have what it takes.

Below link to the various elements of the Reid tenure that lead us to beleive his time should come to an end.
